Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab (Days)

Job Description

• Work in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab providing care to acute inpatient and elective outpatient populations.
• Care primarily provided within the Cardiovascular Lab on the 4th floor.
• Staff available 24/7 for emergency procedures during off hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, registered clinical nurses, radiology technologists, and cardiovascular technologists.
• Responsibilities include:

  • Positioning and immobilizing patients following protocols.
  • Continuous assessment of patient hemodynamics.
  • Performing conscious sedation.
  • Mixing and maintaining IV/IC infusions and boluses.
  • Alerting physicians to changes in patient responses.
  • Assisting physicians in interventional procedures.
  • Recovery of patients to Phase I.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of current Cath Lab experience (higher years of experience required).
  • 2+ years in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Cath and peripheral experience, including STEMI and STEMI call experience.
  • Proficiency interpreting EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
  • Conscious sedation experience.
  • IV experience.
• Certifications:

  • Moderate Sedation Certification is highly preferred.
  • EP (Electrophysiology) experience is highly preferred.
  • Current New York RN license required.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Other:

  • Must have own vehicle.
  • Reliable with no attendance concerns or call-outs.
  • Must complete required training for onboarding (verbal de-escalation training from approved providers).
  • Must pass a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
  • Dress code: Personal scrubs of any color (no designs or cartoons), no hoodies.
  • Non-billable orientation: 8 hours.
  • Requested time off during assignment must be noted upfront; no more than 5 days allowed.

Prior Travel Experience

Additional Notes

• Facility is transitioning to EPIC electronic health records; EPIC experience is a plus.
• COVID vaccinations encouraged but not required.
• Permanent address must be included in profile and must not be from certain specified counties in New York.
• Must provide work history, skills checklist (updated within 1 year), and a supervisory signed reference from the past two years.
