Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg & Tele Short Stay
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM), 4 shifts per week (48 hours guaranteed)
Weekend Requirement: Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) expected
Holidays: Must work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
Time Off: Up to 5 days off per 13-week contract automatically approved; additional time off requires approval and may need to be made up
Position Details
- Specialty: Med Surg & Tele Short Stay
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2+ years of Telemetry experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- Certifications Required: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS
- Float Requirements: Float as needed/customary upon request
- Patient Population: Adults only, approximately 50% medical and 50% telemetry patients
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4-6 patients per nurse
- EMR System: EPIC
- Dress Code: Black scrubs
Unit & Work Environment
- Unit: Med Surg / Telemetry Short Stay (7E Floor)
- Equipment: Standard nursing equipment for telemetry unit
- Work Culture: Team player with strong communication skills, focused on positive patient outcomes
- Job Functions:
- Direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordination with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
- Adherence to Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions require approval)
- Manager interviews all candidates within 24 hours of offer; final approval required
- Weekly guaranteed hours can be 36 or 48 based on candidate preference
