Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (L&D) - Travel/Contract

Location: Attleboro, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
  • Unit: 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit with inpatient rooming-in for infants; newborn nursery used as needed
  • Patient Age Groups: Neonates and Adults
  • Medication System: Omnicell
  • Communication Method: SBAR
  • Charge Nurse: Not required or preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers will be screened and considered

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Beginner (required) for Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
  • AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced (preferred)
  • Age Specific Competency Exam (required)

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not explicitly required

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Massachusetts Statewide iCORI Release required
  • Standard background check within 1 year of start date (7-year search including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all travelers in MA

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (no annual update required if contract is extended)
  • N95 Fit Test within last 6 months (specific approved masks listed)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Proof of one Tdap after age 18, then Td every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines (2-step PPD or equivalent)
  • Annual TB questionnaire for past positives or pending TB tests
  • Immunity or vaccination required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (numerical titer required; declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (declinations NOT accepted)
  • Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (minimum 9-panel, marijuana testing not required)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or medical exemption required annually (declinations generally not accepted except for medical reasons)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted with signed documentation)

Additional Requirements

  • Badge photo (passport style, head and shoulders with plain background) required 2 weeks prior to start
  • Compliance checklist, latex allergy questionnaire, personal information forms, and COVID exemption forms (if applicable) must be completed prior to start
  • References: 2 professional references required for travel/per diem acute care positions (within 3 years)
