Job Opportunity: Director (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract

Location: North Adams, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an Administrative Director for evening/night shifts with flexible hours between 3 PM - 11:30 PM, 11 PM - 7:30 AM, and rotating weekend 12-hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week. The role involves directing hospital operations during evenings, nights, and weekends.


Requirements

Licensure & Education

  • Current Massachusetts RN license required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience (highest required specialty experience)
  • Experience in successful conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of daily operations in an acute care medical center, including emergency/trauma and critical care situations
  • Working knowledge of staffing systems
  • Evidence of continuing education and professional growth in healthcare and nursing

Prior Travel Experience

  • No explicit requirement for prior travel experience indicated

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) through AHA (preferred) or ARC required for relevant units
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required for all candidates
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred but not required for ICU
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred for ER but not required
  • Competency exams including Medication Test/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG (as applicable)
  • Color Blind Testing (Ishihara) required for certain units (Renal, CCU, CCSDU, ED)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) on first day of orientation

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit testing with 3M N95 Model 1860 required for all units including OR
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years required
  • Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold or Tspot) within 6 months of start or negative 2-step PPD skin test
  • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B (positive titer required; declination accepted only with low titer and completion of declination form), Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (October to May); exemptions require facility approval
  • COVID-19 vaccination required annually with up-to-date doses or approved medical/religious exemption

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Emergency contact form required prior to start
  • Background checks including 7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search
  • Documentation of 2 recent professional work references required (within 3 years)
  • Facility-specific forms related to flu, COVID-19, and Hepatitis B declinations as applicable
  • Scrub color flexible; scrubs provided for OR

Work Environment

  • Acute care medical center setting
  • Leadership role overseeing evening, night, and weekend operations
