Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MSI)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
• Shift Requirements:

  • Weekend shifts required: 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
  • No on-call required
  • Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
  • Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Special Patient Care: Post catheterization patients
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 75 miles from facility)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days
• Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Telemetry skills (on-unit monitoring)

Additional certifications may be required depending on unit:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• CPI or MAB (Crisis Prevention Institute or Management of Assaultive Behavior)
• NIH Stroke Certification (annual update required)

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Unit-specific Competency Exam (updated annually)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required within 12 months prior to start)
• Color Blind Testing (within 12 months of start)

Licensure & Background Requirements

• Valid Missouri RN license (Primary Source Verification via NURSYS required)
• Government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Criminal Background Check (7-year search, including statewide and nationwide checks) within 6 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (quarterly)
• Education Verification (highest nursing education)
• State-specific searches and registries as applicable (Missouri Family Care Safety Registry, Highway Patrol Check, etc.)
• Fingerprinting required for assignments in Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not required for Missouri)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam (within 1 year of start)
• Fit Mask (N95) testing and annual renewal required
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination (Tdap every 10 years)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent within 1 year)
• Immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Drug Testing (within 1 year of start, must include specific panels)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season Sept-April)
• Hepatitis B declination form required (vaccination not mandatory)

• Photo for badge (head and shoulders, white background, taken within 6 months)
• HIPAA Acknowledgement (annual)
• Latex Allergy Questionnaire (annual)
• Confidentiality Form (annual)
• Regulatory Compliance Education (annual quiz with 80% passing score)
• Hand Hygiene Policy acknowledgment
• Fingernail Policy acknowledgment
• Dress Code Policy acknowledgment
• Orientation Modules (approx. 16 hours, completed via WorkRamp)
• Vehicle Registration form (if applicable)
• Employment Application
• References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Skills Checklist (unit-specific, within 1 year of start)
• Performance Evaluation (may be requested after assignment)

• Floating between units and departments is expected to meet facility needs.
• Candidates must be prepared to work required weekend and holiday shifts.
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible for this travel assignment.
