Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Specialty: Med Surg & Tele Short Stay
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (3 months)
Shift: Nights (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 7pm - 7am)
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours (36 or 48 hours available upon request)
Weekend Requirements: Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required unless otherwise approved
Holiday Requirements: Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
Time Off: Up to 5 days off per 13-week contract automatically approved; additional time off subject to approval and may require making up time


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years of telemetry nursing experience required
  • Certifications Required:
    • NIHSS
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • Float Requirements: Float as needed/customary upon request

Unit & Patient Information

  • Unit: Med Surg / Telemetry Short Stay (Floor 7E)
  • Patient Population: Adults only, approximately 50% medical and 50% telemetry patients
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 4-6 patients per nurse
  • Equipment: Standard telemetry nursing equipment
  • EMR System: EPIC

Job Description

  • Perform direct patient care activities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all adult age groups
  • Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes
  • Work within the scope of nursing practice consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
  • Must be a team player with superior communication skills and a focus on positive patient outcomes

Additional Information

  • Flu Vaccination: Required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; exemptions must be client approved
  • Dress Code: Black scrubs required
  • Interview Process: Final offer subject to manager approval; manager will interview candidates within 24 hours of offer
