Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Saint Peters, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Every third weekend
• Float: Required to float between two facilities as needed
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Unit Types:

  • Telemetry
  • Post cath lab management (inpatient)
  • Neuro/Stroke care
  • Total joint replacement
  • Neuro spine
  • General surgery
  • Wounds
  • Diabetic care
  • Medical COVID
  • Oral surgery (starting mid-July)
• Average Daily Census: 16
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
• Charting System: EPIC (experience required)

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience (includes telemetry, post cath lab management, neuro/stroke care)
• Certifications:

  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Skills:

  • Telemetry experience required
  • Experience with EPIC charting system
• Travel Experience: Prior travel experience not required; unit accepts first-time travelers

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to float between facilities as needed
• Background checks including criminal, statewide, and federal searches required
• Verification of highest nursing education required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be current throughout assignment
• Fit mask testing required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) through online training platform
• Compliance with facility policies including hand hygiene, dress code, fingernail policy, and HIPAA acknowledgment
• Must complete and sign float attestation acknowledging willingness to float to multiple facilities

Competencies and Exams

• Unit-specific competency exams required and must be updated annually
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable

References and Documentation

• Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Employment application and skills checklist required within 1 year of start
• Various state-specific background and registry checks required for Missouri
