Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: New London, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Evenings (1445-2315)
• Call and weekends required as needed
• Must float between two hospital locations in CT and RI
• Candidate must obtain both Connecticut and Rhode Island state licenses (can start with whichever license is issued first)
• Facility Type: Short term acute care, Level III trauma center
• Charting system: EPIC
• Equipment: GE CT equipment experience required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years hospital experience as a CT Tech
• ARRT CT certification required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
• Must have both CT and RI state licenses for CT Tech role
• Can start without license in hand but must apply promptly

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
• Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (check unit description)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months prior to start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required (including foreign equivalency if applicable)
• Drug screening: 10 panel drug screen within 12 months of start
• Employment application with 7-year work history, no gaps greater than 90 days
• Work history verification for last 7 years required
• Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for new candidates

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations/vaccinations:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred for certain specialties)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or physician documented history)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccination preferred but not mandatory

Additional Notes

• Candidate must be prepared to complete various facility-specific training modules and attestations prior to or shortly after start date
• Floating between two states requires timely license application and compliance with both states’ requirements
• Facility offers free parking

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with hospital experience, ARRT CT certification, and flexibility to work evenings with call and weekend responsibilities.
