Travel RN - Psychiatry

Location: Oro Valley, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide care to adult psychiatric patients using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe delivery of care.
  • Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
  • Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
  • Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and accurately document findings.
  • Report changes in patient condition to appropriate care team members.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and document administration per standards of practice.
  • Assist physicians during procedures within documented competency and skill level.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions such as CPR and code team activities.

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3/12-hour shifts)
  • 36 hours guaranteed per week
  • Rotating weekends
  • Patient ratio: 9:1
  • Preferred scrub color: Navy

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Psychiatric/Behavioral Health nursing
  • Cerner electronic health record experience preferred

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
