Job Description

• Pediatric Behavioral Health and Medical-Surgical RN role
• Shift options: 3x12-hour shifts or 4x12-hour shifts
• Required experience: Behavioral/psychiatric and medical-surgical nursing experience
• Pediatrics experience preferred
• Patient ratios typically 1:3 or 1:4, similar to other inpatient units

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• Psychiatric experience
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year or more of total travel nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
• Annual TB questionnaire and testing as required
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (flu declinations not accepted)
• References: Two supervisory references or performance evaluations verified within 1 year of start
• Skills checklist and competency exams specific to pediatric nursing

Work Environment

• Inpatient pediatric behavioral health unit with medical-surgical responsibilities
• Patient care ratios of 1:3 or 1:4
• Orientation and testing required prior to or during initial shifts

This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with behavioral health and med-surg pediatric experience who hold the appropriate state licenses and certifications, and who meet the facility’s compliance and health requirements.
