Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Annandale, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking a Home Health RN with Home Care/Home Health experience who can start immediately. This role involves:

Managing 4-6 patients per day (approximately 25-30 visits per week)
Providing care in patients' residences, including wound care and medication administration
Completing admissions (required)
Participating in an on-call rotation (occasional on-call required)
Using a tablet for same-day patient visits and charting (Kinnser/Wellsky system)
Traveling up to 60 miles outside the home base for patient visits

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Minimum 1 year of Home Health experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience in a Home Health setting
Experience with OASIS documentation

Additional Requirements

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
Background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually)
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
9-panel drug screen within 1 year
Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
COVID vaccination or approved exemption
Facility-specific forms including mandated reporter, HIPAA compliance, and conflict of interest agreements
Professional references (2 required)
Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing

Notes

Locals within a 50-mile radius are accepted
Mileage reimbursement follows IRS standard but does not cover travel to first patient or return home
On-call requirements and weekend coverage vary; discuss during interview

This position is ideal for RNs with home health experience looking for a travel contract opportunity with guaranteed 40 hours per week and a supportive team environment.
