Job Description

The RN Supervisor provides administrative, operational, and clinical leadership across all shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This role serves as the clinical resource for patient care and collaborates with medical staff and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care and environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise patient care by verifying nursing practices and standards.
• Provide direction and guidance to nursing staff to facilitate the nursing process.
• Respond appropriately to patient condition changes, disruptive behavior, and equipment issues.
• Act as off-shift patient care representative, addressing patient and family concerns.
• Conduct rounds in all patient care areas, focusing on high-acuity patients.
• Collaborate with support services, emergency, admitting, and clinical teams to coordinate care and environmental needs.
• Must be able to read telemetry strips and perform cardiac drips, including medication titration.

Shift Details:

• 36 hours per week
• Rotating schedule including days, evenings, and nights every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Ability to perform cardiac drips and titrate medications

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System

• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Documentation of immunizations and/or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening within 3 months of start date
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity preferred
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years preferred
• Physician health statement within 1 year of start date
• N95 Fit Test and Respirator Medical Clearance (if applicable) within 1 year
• Criminal background checks, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry
• Education verification and professional license verification required
• Skills checklist and medication exam (80% passing) within 1 year

Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Two professional references within 4 years (minimum one supervisor-level)
• Completed skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet
• Primary source verification of RN license (NURSYS and Board of Nursing)

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work all shifts on a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
