Registered Nurse - Step Down

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Step Down unit. This is a travel contract position with locals accepted within a 50-mile radius at a reduced rate.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Step Down nursing experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Certification)
• Basic Dysrhythmia Exam
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including national criminal, state, county, SSN trace, sex offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification with official transcript or diploma
• Primary source verification of certifications and licenses (including NURSYS for RN)
• Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
• Fit mask testing completed onsite
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, updated annually; additional requirements if positive TB history
• Immunizations or proof of immunity/declination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years of start
• Employment application, skills checklist, and work history verification required
• Missouri-specific EDL search within 30 days of start

• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgement required annually
• Agency nurse orientation quiz must be completed prior to start with a passing score of 84% or higher
• Onsite AVADE training required for RN candidates in certain units if extending past initial contract
