Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Surgery

Location: Franklin, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Schedule & Work Details

• Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with variable start times
• Call required based on department needs: currently 1-2 times during weekday evenings and every 3rd weekend
• Holiday coverage rotates with regular staff
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to nearby sites within 40 miles

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of RN Surgery experience
• Strong orthopedic surgery experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• ACLS certification

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Proof of immunizations/vaccines:

  • MMR (2 doses or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (2 doses or immunity evidence; no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
• Tuberculosis screening:

  • 2-step PPD or IGRA test within required timeframes
  • If positive, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 Regular, 1860 Small, or 1870+ mask) required annually
• Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter

Documentation & Onboarding Requirements

• Current professional resume/profile
• Signed assignment agreement
• Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address requirements)
• Professional references (minimum two)
• Criminal background check and employment verifications as required
• Specialty competency exams and skills checklists completed prior to start and updated annually or as specified
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission standards
• Color vision test and EKG exam with passing scores required
• Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work flexible hours including call and weekends as scheduled
• Ability to float to other nearby sites within 40 miles as needed
• Compliance with all onboarding and credentialing requirements is mandatory prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with orthopedic surgery expertise who have prior travel nursing experience and are comfortable working in a dynamic surgical environment with variable call and floating responsibilities.
