Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse in Telemetry/Step-Down unit
• Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance clearance
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet unit needs
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local candidates accepted: No (75 mile radius restriction)
• Pending License Accepted: Yes
• Maximum Return to Office (RTO) days: No more than 7 days per 13-week contract
• Guaranteed Hours: Yes

Special Requirements:

• Experience in telemetry/step-down nursing required
• Experience with EKG and cardiac drips

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• Step-down nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Scheduling & Work Environment

• Ratios: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Floating within scope to other units as needed
• No block scheduling available

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months (including statewide and nationwide searches)
• Education verification of highest nursing degree
• Fingerprinting required for certain assignments (especially in Illinois long-term care or rehab units)
• Drug testing within 1 year, must include standard panels
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test (N95) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Annual HIPAA acknowledgement and compliance training
• Adherence to facility policies including dress code, hand hygiene, and fingernail policy
• Completion of orientation modules (approximately 16 hours) through online platform
• Badge photo and facility badge required

Competency & Certification Exams

• Unit-specific competency exams required annually
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., Trauma Nursing Core Course, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation)

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Candidates must be able to work within a 75-mile radius restriction (no local candidates accepted outside this radius)
