Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PACU

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Day/Evening shifts, Monday to Friday, 8 or 10-hour shifts
• PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) hours: 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM
• Must have PACU/Recovery Room experience
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Telemetry test must be passed prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum of 1 year of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) experience, with experience within the last year
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing requirements
• Successful completion of Pass/Fail Testing including EKG and Medication exams

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 90 days prior to start, including nationwide and state-specific searches
• Education verification as applicable
• Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
• Physical exam (must meet agency standard)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titers
  • Varicella vaccination or titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually)
  • Other vaccines or declinations as required by department (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology)
• Signed orientation safety manual acknowledgment
• Completion of required competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests
• Telemetry testing and remediation process as required (strict testing deadlines and remediation steps apply)

Additional Notes

• Two clinical references within the last 3 years are required
• Employment application and annual skills checklist required
• Wisconsin state-mandated caregiver screening and BID form must be completed prior to start
• Photo for badge must meet specific guidelines (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except for religious/medical reasons)

Prior Travel Experience
