Job Description

• Start Date: May 18, 2026 (Bi-weekly orientation)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
• Float required
• Nurse-Patient Ratio:

  • Labor & Delivery (L&D): 1 nurse to 2 patients
  • Mother-Baby (MB): 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
• No time off allowed during specified holidays (including Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, and local breaks). Holiday time off requests may be addressed onsite after arrival.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• AWHONN Intermediate (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• NIH Stroke Certification

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Color Blind Testing (within 12 months prior to start)
• Competency Exam (annual update required)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (score 80% or higher, not required for L&D, Psych, LTC, Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum, Transitional Care)
• Core Competencies Part I, II, and III (minimum 80% pass rate, updated annually)

Required Health Documents

• Physical Exam (within 12 months, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA)
• Negative TB test (QGold or Skin Test within 1 year; T-spots not accepted) or clear chest X-ray if previously positive
• TB Questionnaire
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug Testing (within 45 days of start) including a comprehensive panel with MRO signature
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (for 2025-26 season)
• Flu Vaccine Exemption Attestation if applicable

Required Background and History Documentation

• Background Check (must include 7 years of history, alias verification, and multiple specific searches)
• Employment Application with 7-year work history, no unexplained gaps over 30 days, and active nursing license details
• Two supervisory references from the past 3 years
• Unit-specific Skills Checklist (updated annually, within last year)

Additional Information

• Nurse must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee (license verification required)
• Photo for badge with solid background required prior to start
• Utility bill or lease/mortgage statement required to verify address (must be >75 miles from contracted facility)
• Orientation and onboarding documents must be reviewed and attested to by the candidate

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• AWHONN Intermediate certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
