Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (1900 - 0730)
- Schedule: Variable days with every other weekend required
- Some holidays may be required depending on operational needs
- Start dates available: May 18, 2026 or June 8, 2026
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years
- Epic electronic health record experience required
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Telemetry test must be passed prior to start
Required Testing & Competencies
- Telemetry pass/fail testing (Adult Medical Surgical/Telemetry) required before start and updated annually
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Annual skills checklist required
- Background checks including criminal history and caregiver screening per Wisconsin state requirements
- Education verification as applicable
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- Annual TB questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers, with medical or religious exemptions accepted
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer, with exemptions accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form if applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Other vaccines or declinations as required by department or state (e.g., Tetanus, Meningococcal)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of Wisconsin BID form and caregiver screening within 90 days prior to start
- Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
- Signed acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail telemetry testing
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years
- At least 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
- Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

- Remediation and retesting policies apply for telemetry exam failures
