Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry Float
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Job Description
- Float nurse position covering Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- Days and weekends: 1:5-6
- Nights: 1:6
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including medical, renal, oncology, neuro, and cardiology units.
- Float assignments may be pre-assigned or given on shift day via call-in.
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule minimum, plus holiday rotation.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
- Lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner training provided.
Required Qualifications
- License: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri (pending licenses accepted).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
- Certifications:
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- IV Start Certification
- Telemetry Certification
- Preferred: NIH Stroke Certification.
- Other:
- Past EPIC charting experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to float to multiple units as needed.
Schedule & Work Details
- Start date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance completion.
- Weekend shifts required as noted above.
- No on-call requirement.
- No block scheduling available.
- Local candidates outside a 75-mile radius are not accepted.
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: No more than 7 days off per 13-week contract.
Facility & Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care facility.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- Free parking available.
Special Requirements & Equipment
- Training provided for lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanners.
- Must be able to work across medical, surgical, oncology, neuro, and cardiology units.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required.
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches.
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Education verification required.
- Various state-specific background checks and registries as applicable.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Drug testing within 1 year, including a comprehensive panel.
- Fit mask testing required annually (N95 respirators).
- Immunizations and titers required or declination forms for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- TB testing (2 negative PPDs or equivalent)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption.
- HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, and other facility policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Various facility-specific documents and training modules required, including regulatory compliance education and orientation modules.
Additional Notes
- References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year.
- Skills checklist and competency exams required, including oncology competency if assigned to oncology units.
- Floating nurses must be flexible and able to adapt to multiple unit environments.
- Candidates must adhere to facility policies including fingernail and dress code policies.
This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable floating across multiple medical units and have the required certifications and flexibility to meet weekend and holiday scheduling needs.
