Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Johnson City, Tennessee

Job Description

• 24/7 phlebotomy, Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and supervisor support available on all units
• Schedule: 36 hours on / 36 hours off (36/36 schedule)
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• No on-call duties
• Floating between units required
• Hybrid unit setting

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Job Details

• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional shifts beyond the work commitment may be flexed based on census/resource needs
• Contract nurses are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, updated annually
• Education verification
• State RN license primary source verification
• Drug screening (standard 9-panel within 14 days of start)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption during flu season
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
  • Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Respirator medical evaluation and fit testing (completed onsite)
• Photo for badge (must meet specific standards)
• Annual safety manual acknowledgement
• References (minimum 2 preferred, 3 ideal)
• Skills checklist required

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable training
• General orientation starts on Sundays with online learning modules
• Must complete compliance documents by deadline to start on a Sunday

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this role
• Floating and rotating weekend/holiday shifts are mandatory
• Hybrid unit experience in PCU is mandatory
