Description

Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • 36-hour rotating shifts (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night: 7:15 PM - 7:15 AM)
  • Rotation based on unit needs; not guaranteed
  • Every other weekend and rotating holidays required
  • Labor and Delivery experience is required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Submission Requirements

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
  • Two references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the skillset
  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year
  • Candidate submission coversheet (current version)

Onboarding Requirements

  • License/certificate primary source verification within 30 days of start date
  • BLS, NRP, EFM certifications verified
  • TB test, fit test, respirator clearance, health statement, and criminal background checks completed and uploaded
  • Medication exam with 80% passing score within 365 days
  • Self-study orientation and attestation specific to the facility
  • Confirmation of assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for any start date changes

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity is strongly preferred but optional
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years is preferred but optional
  • Positive TB test requires negative chest x-ray documentation (optional)
  • Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential documentation

This position requires a dedicated Labor and Delivery RN comfortable with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday coverage, meeting all licensure, certification, and health compliance standards.
