Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry

Shift Details

• Day shift: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (3 shifts of 12 hours each per week)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Rotating weekends required

Unit and Patient Care

• Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, reading rhythms, managing cardiac medications and drips (no titration)
• Experience with TAVR, LAA, chest tubes, and external pacers preferred
• Floating within scope of practice may be required

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Licensure and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications preferred
• Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., Management of Assaultive Behavior, Trauma Nursing Core Course, Pediatric Advanced Life Support if applicable)

Compliance and Background Checks

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
• Education verification required (highest nursing education)
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Fingerprinting required for assignments in Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not applicable here)
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include comprehensive panel and remain valid throughout assignment

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
• Tdap vaccine or declination required (expires every 10 years)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (two-step PPD or equivalent)
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity required (vaccines, titers, or medical exemption)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept-April)
• Hepatitis B declination required (vaccination not mandatory)

Facility and Documentation Requirements

• Must complete facility-specific orientation modules and HIPAA acknowledgment annually
• Required to review and sign policies including hand hygiene, fingernail, dress code, and confidentiality prior to start
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Employment application and professional references required (two references preferred, supervisors within last year ideal)
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
