Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Sunday through Thursday
  • Day shift: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (5 days, 8 hours each)
  • Weekend requirements depend on block schedule
  • No on-call duties
  • Float may be required to cover 4 different locations

Required Experience and Licenses

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Florida
  • Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification (AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI accepted)

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Two professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) within the last 12 months
  • Current employment application or resume dated within 90 days of start
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
    • Social Security Trace
    • County, State, Nationwide checks
    • Sex Offender Registry
    • Education Verification (international searches required; certain educational institutions are disqualified)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 90 days of start
  • Monthly HHS/OIG checks
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide; clearance can take up to 10 days)
  • Primary source online verification of state license within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (valid for 5 years once on file)
  • Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (specific mask types required; must be fully shaven; no PAPR allowed)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start (QGold preferred; 2 negative PPDs accepted; Tspot not accepted)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Quantitative titers within 5 years for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella (both quantitative and qualitative accepted)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/1–3/31); documentation deadline 10/31
  • Facility-specific forms including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, values attestation, and badge form
  • Radiation badge monitoring form must be completed prior to start (for Radiology-related roles)

Additional Requirements

  • Scrubs provided or any solid color acceptable
  • Locals accepted at same rate as travelers
  • Guaranteed contracted hours
  • Must comply with facility-specific immunization declination forms if applicable
  • Color blind testing required for MLTs (not applicable for this role)
  • Competency exam required
  • Photo for badge: passport-style, solid white background, no filters

Special Notes

  • Flu vaccine exemptions require specific documentation and timely submission
  • Fingerprint clearance must be on file before start; travelers cannot begin with fingerprints pending
  • Floating to multiple locations may be required
  • No call responsibilities

This position is ideal for experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists with at least 2 years in Radiology/Cardiology, who have completed prior travel contracts and meet Florida licensure and immunization requirements.
