Registered Nurse (Psychiatric) - Rotating Shifts
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Job Description
- Requires 1 year of nursing experience; psychiatric experience preferred (any amount).
- Medicine experience, IV therapy skills, and phlebotomy skills are preferred but not required.
- Shift schedule is rotating with a combination of days, evenings, and nights; approximately 50% of shifts will be evening or night.
- Work schedule consists of 36 hours per week, typically 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Primary source verification of nursing license required within 30 days of start date; Massachusetts conditional licenses are not accepted.
- N95 respirator fit test required within 365 days prior to start date and updated annually; no exemptions allowed.
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is needed.
- Documentation of TB screening (skin test or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months.
- Documentation of MMR immunity (vaccines or blood test) required.
- Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
- Passing score (80% or higher) on medication exam within 365 days prior to start date.
- Criminal background check, Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender check, and exclusion checks must be completed within required timeframes prior to start date and updated as needed.
- Two professional references required within 4 years, including at least one supervisor-level reference in the nursing skillset.
- Skills checklist must be completed within 1 year of submission.
- Resume including 7 years of work experience with city and state details required for submission.
- Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any extensions.
Preferred but Optional
- Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity preferred.
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years preferred.
- Documentation of chest x-ray if positive TB test.
- Name change documentation if legal name differs from credential documentation.

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
