Case Manager - Registered Nurse
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Shift Hours: Either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, based on unit needs
- Units Covered: All units except Psychiatry and Women & Infants
- Average Daily Census: 1000+ hospital beds
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Magnet & Teaching Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
- Charting System: EPIC (experience preferred) and Allscripts (preferred)
- Case Manager Responsibilities:
- Complete assessments on all admitted patients
- Attend interdisciplinary rounds
- Initiate referrals for home health, durable medical equipment (DME), skilled nursing facilities, LTACs, and IRFs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum of 2 years of Case Management experience, including acute hospital case management
- Case Management experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required (driver’s license needed for Home Health roles)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including:
- Statewide searches
- MO State Highway Patrol check
- Nationwide and international searches if applicable
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
- Fingerprinting required for assignments in Illinois long-term care or rehab units
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable (Missouri and Illinois)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing required and must be renewed annually (N95 respirators)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine or declination (no exemption in Bone Marrow Transplant Unit)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (two negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination (no exemptions in certain units)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sep-Apr)
- Annual compliance documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, latex allergy questionnaire, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies
- Regulatory compliance education and orientation modules required (approx. 16 hours)
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required, including oncology if applicable
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for RNs in certain specialties (not specifically required for Case Manager role)
- Vehicle registration form required for day shift workers
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
Parking Information
- Monthly parking passes available at various lots (fees apply)
- No parking charge for straight night shifts (employee parking available)
- Day/night rotation shifts require a parking pass with monthly fee
- Orientation parking available at a designated garage with a fee (not reimbursed)

- Candidates must wear scrubs
- Facility does not accept first-time travelers for this role
- Candidates with experience in smaller facilities (200+ beds) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
