Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care on Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units during night shifts.
• Must be able to start IV lines and draw labs.
• Charting system used: EPIC.
• Free parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Basic Dysrhythmia competency.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
• Fit mask testing completed onsite at orientation.
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q-Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year, updated annually. For positive TB results, chest x-ray and infectious disease consult required.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (2 doses or positive titer) or declination accepted for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or declination accepted; vaccination series must be completed on schedule if started prior to start date.
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season or agency-approved medical/religious exemption with mask-wearing mandate. Declinations not accepted.
• Drug screening within 30 days of start, covering a comprehensive panel of substances. Instant drug screens accepted only as temporary placeholders.

Documentation and Compliance

• Background checks including national criminal, state, county, SSN trace, sex offender, and federal exclusion lists within 30 days of start.
• Education verification with official transcript or diploma including graduation date.
• Missouri EDL search required within 30 days of start.
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.
• Employment application, skills checklist, work history verification, and 2 professional references within 3 years required.
• Completion and signing of confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, demographic form, and orientation quiz (minimum 84% score).
• Annual acknowledgment of pass/fail testing policies and safety manual.

Additional Information

• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a reduced rate.
• Onsite AVADE training required for RN candidates extending past initial contract in certain units; includes online pre-work and in-person skills validation.
• Facility is a Level II Trauma and Stroke Center with 352 certified beds, serving as the only tertiary hospital between Kansas City and Omaha.
