Job Opportunity: PCU Float Registered Nurse

Job Description

• Start date must be 5/18 or 6/1.
• Position primarily supports Medical-Surgical units; must be agreeable to floating.
• Work schedule: alternating 36/48 hour shifts every other week, totaling 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee.
• Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, either 3 or 4 shifts per week (12-hour shifts).
• Weekend work required, potentially most weekends during the contract. Block scheduling may be accommodated but set schedules are not guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas.
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• I9 or attestation form.
• E-Verify or attestation.
• Background check within 1 year of start, including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, and sex offender registry. Must be renewed annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start.
• State license verification within 30 days of start.
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment, updated annually.
• Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments as required prior to start.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (2-step PPD or equivalent).
• Required vaccinations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
• Seasonal flu vaccine required between October 1 and May 31; medical or religious exemptions may be submitted for review.
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation required.
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start; must have plan to complete within 72 hours of contract signing.

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references within 3 years of start.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Annual skills checklist update required.

• Candidate must be flexible with floating assignments and weekend shifts.
