Job Description
- Unit: Telemetry/Step-Down
- Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance clearance
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Pending license accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: No more than 7 days off per 13-week contract
- Guaranteed hours provided
Required Experience and Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience, including Step-Down, with Telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience with EKG and cardiac drips
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association; certificates of completion accepted for up to 1 month until official card is issued
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association; certificates of completion accepted for up to 1 month
Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse license for Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
- Primary source verification required (NURSYS for Missouri licenses)
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.), must not expire during assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine or declination (renew every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Sept 30 - Apr 1)
- HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Facility-specific orientation modules completed through online training platform (approximately 16 hours)
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exams required and must be updated annually
- Skills checklist specific to the unit required within 1 year of start
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred within last year)
- Employment application must be submitted and uploaded for facility review
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months of start)
