Job Description

  • Unit: Telemetry/Step-Down
  • Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance clearance
  • Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
  • Pending license accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: No more than 7 days off per 13-week contract
  • Guaranteed hours provided

Required Experience and Skills

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in Missouri
  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience, including Step-Down, with Telemetry experience within the last year
  • Experience with EKG and cardiac drips

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association; certificates of completion accepted for up to 1 month until official card is issued
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association; certificates of completion accepted for up to 1 month

Licensure

  • Active Registered Nurse license for Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
  • Primary source verification required (NURSYS for Missouri licenses)

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license)
  • Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
  • State-specific searches and registries as applicable
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.), must not expire during assignment
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tdap vaccine or declination (renew every 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as required
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Sept 30 - Apr 1)
  • HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
  • Facility-specific orientation modules completed through online training platform (approximately 16 hours)

Additional Requirements

  • Unit-specific competency exams required and must be updated annually
  • Skills checklist specific to the unit required within 1 year of start
  • Two professional references required (supervisors preferred within last year)
  • Employment application must be submitted and uploaded for facility review
  • Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months of start)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
