Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Position involves performing a wide range of interventional radiology procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, biopsies, drainages, vascular and neurological studies, and venous access.
  • Equipment experience required with Siemens and Phillips x-ray machines; Acuson preferred.
  • Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents.
  • Daily caseload ranges from 13 to 17 cases.
  • Shift: First shift, Monday to Friday, 4x10 hour days (7:00-8:30 AM staggered start), with primary and backup on-call rotation for evenings and weekends.
  • No float requirement.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • BLS certification
  • ARRT certification

Call and Weekend Requirements

  • Primary call approximately 1 day every 4 weeks and every 5th-6th weekend.
  • Backup call approximately 7 days (including a weekend) every 9 weeks.
  • Weekends and evenings/nights on call rotation required.

Orientation and Training

  • Hospital orientation mandatory during week one.
  • Must complete facility-specific education modules and safety training as required.
  • Scrubs provided.

Health and Compliance Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (or proof of past positive with appropriate documentation).
  • Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B. Declinations generally not accepted except for flu vaccine with approved exemption.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • Drug screening (9 panel) within 6 months of start.
  • N95 fit mask required (can be completed onsite if necessary).
  • Background check within 6 months for clinical candidates.
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma required as applicable.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Must provide photo ID (passport or driver’s license) and social security card if used for I9.
  • Required to complete and submit various facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreement, medication safety training, and hospital policies acknowledgment.
  • Radiation badge required for this role; will be arranged by the agency.
  • Must complete competency exams and pass required tests such as Dysrhythmia/EKG competency within 72 hours of start.
  • Color blindness testing required within 1 year.

Additional Notes

  • No return to office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation.
  • Locals accepted.
  • Candidate must provide interview availability within 72 hours of submission.
