Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Vascular
Location: Plainview, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Multispecialty ultrasound position requiring experience in:
- General ultrasound
- Fetal ultrasound
- OB ultrasound
- Breast ultrasound
- Transvaginal ultrasound
- Vascular ultrasound
- Echocardiogram (adult echo, contrast echo, echo stress treadmill)
- No floating between units
- On-call required:
- Monday to Friday: 5 PM – 8 AM
- 24-hour on-call coverage Saturday & Sunday
- Weekends required on-call
- Patient ratio: 8:1
- Facility type: Short Term Acute Care, Level IV Trauma Center
- Total staffed beds: 49
Required Qualifications
- Ultrasound Technologist with 1 year of experience
- Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- Fetal ultrasound experience
- OB ultrasound experience
- Breast ultrasound experience
- Transvaginal ultrasound experience
- Echocardiogram experience
- Echo stress treadmill experience
- Ob/Gyn Sonographer experience
- Breast Sonographer experience
- Vascular Sonographer experience
- Echo Technologist experience
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- E-Verify attestation required
- Education verification for all candidates
- State-specific background checks and registries as applicable
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable with attestation
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual requirement)
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
Additional Notes
- No block schedules required
- Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
- Radiation badge issued by facility if applicable
- Float policy acknowledgement required; traveler may be required to float to nearby facilities within reasonable distance
- On-call and weekend coverage are mandatory components of this role
