Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks (preferred; minimum 13 weeks accepted)
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Patient Ratio: 1:2


Job Description

  • High acuity Cardiac ICU (CVICU) requiring prior CVICU experience.
  • Care for patients with complex cardiac conditions including acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, post cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia, and pre-heart transplant care.
  • Management of advanced cardiac devices and interventions such as arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, LVADs, and vasoactive drips.
  • Ventilator management, central line care, dialysis, and Foley catheter management.
  • Floating within the service line may be required.
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
  • No on-call duties.
  • Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted).
  • Pending license accepted.
  • Time off allowed: up to 2 requests totaling no more than 40 hours (5 days) during the contract.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification
  • Must pass Relias EKG (Dysrhythmia) competency exam prior to start

  • Parking is available with monthly passes; fees vary depending on location and shift. Night shift parking is free in employee lots.

  • Floating may be required within the service line to meet facility needs.

This position is ideal for experienced CVICU RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a challenging role in a high-acuity cardiac ICU setting.
