Job Opportunity: Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

Practice nurse role in an ambulatory oncology clinic (no infusion duties).
Patient population: oncology patients before, during, or after treatments; includes follow-up, pre-op, and post-op care.
Responsibilities include telephone triage, inbasket handling, assisting providers during clinic visits.
Chemo knowledge and oncology experience required.
Floating between specialties may be required within scope.
Weekend work is not required.
Block scheduling accommodation is not available.
Pending license accepted but must be active prior to start.
Guaranteed hours.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
Minimum 2 years of Hematology/Oncology nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Current ACLS certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Experience in outpatient and clinic settings.
Ambulatory care experience.
