Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Lafayette, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Hours per week: 40 hours
- Average daily census: 30 patients
- Call Requirement: 1-2 weekdays per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd or 4th weekend
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team during emergency events, requiring extended stay or relief duties as assigned by unit manager
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Louisiana (or Compact License valid in LA)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA only; RQI accepted)
- ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- BLS (AHA only; RQI accepted)
- Current/valid Driver’s License or government photo ID (color copy required)
Compliance & Background Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Sex offender search required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification or transcript/diploma if verification cannot be completed
- Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
- Resume/application required with 7 years employment history and explanation for gaps
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, indicating good health
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (no instant screens; updated annually)
- Fit mask testing (N95) within 1 year of start; onsite fit testing available if needed
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Tdap vaccine required only for specific units (not applicable here)
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months, updated annually; if positive, additional documentation required
- Seasonal flu vaccination, declination, or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be comfortable with potential emergency event assignments requiring extended presence or relief duties
- Photo for badge: full color, passport-style, taken within last 6 months, plain background, no obstructions or filters
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification not required for ICU specialties (not applicable here)
