Job Description

• Work in the Pre-Screen Unit; clinical fit will be determined by clinical review and manager interview.
• Call requirements: 2-3 calls within a 6-week period with a 30-minute response time.
• Return to Office (RTO) maximum of 7 days.
• Weekend shifts: 3-4 weekends within a 6-week period; shifts may be days, evenings, or nights.
• Holiday shifts as needed (day, evening, or night).
• Floating as needed.
• May care for COVID-19 patients.
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year.
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients.
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Proficient experience in the following surgical specialties:

  • Orthopedics
  • Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN)
  • Urology
  • Bariatrics
  • Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgery
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Thoracic Surgery
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency.

Shift Details

• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (4 days a week, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week).

Required Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC accepted.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or ARC accepted.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - as applicable.
• Other certifications as applicable per unit/job description (e.g., PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification).
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required within 72 hours of contract signing.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment. Fingerprints must be completed in Pennsylvania.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment.
• Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required.
• Employment application and 2 professional references within 3 years required.
• Annual skills checklist required.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
• Negative QGold or TSpot TB test within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted). For positive TB, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
• Vaccination or positive titer proof required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles) - 2 doses or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
  • Mumps - 2 doses or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
  • Rubella - 2 doses or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
  • Varicella - 2 doses or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable.
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or valid medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted).
• COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted.
• Fit mask test preferred but not required.
• Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start; renew annually.

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Clear, passport-style photo for badge required.
• Candidate must review and sign facility documents including:

  • Commitment to Health & Wellness

  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Non-Employee Affidavit
• Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (not on cell phones).
• New hire orientation required by end of first day.
