Description
Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 12-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- Shift hours: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
- On-call responsibilities:
- One weeknight per week (Monday–Thursday)
- One weekend every 6–8 weeks
- Holidays as operationally needed
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric OR (Operating Room) experience, with experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience in an Outpatient setting
- Kidney transplant experience
- Ambulatory Surgery experience
- Trauma experience
- Transplant experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Interview availability is required prior to hire
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID form required prior to start
- Education verification as applicable
- Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines
- Physical exam must be collected to meet agency standards (not facility-mandated)
Immunizations & Health Requirements
- Proof of Tdap vaccination (one dose from adulthood, 10-year update not mandatory)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella):
- 2 doses of MMR vaccine or positive titers required
- Medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- Varicella:
- 2 doses of vaccine or positive titer required
- Medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive titer or facility-specific declination form required if providing direct patient care or exposure to blood/body fluids
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (09/22 – 04/13)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination required if working in Microbiology department
Testing & Competency Requirements
- Pediatric Telemetry Test (WorkRamp LMS) required for all Pediatric Department RNs:
- Must be completed 2 Fridays prior to start date and updated annually
- Candidates allowed 3 attempts with remediation after 2nd failure
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Pass/Fail testing for EKG/Medication per facility standards
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

- Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)

- Two clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard)
