Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Latrobe, Pennsylvania
Shift: Nights (4 shifts per week, 10 hours each, 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Position: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with recent PCU experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Facility & Orientation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form prior to start
• Facility-specific documents including:

  • Orientation checklist
  • Pandemic attestation
  • Code of conduct
  • Confidentiality agreement
  • Disclosure statement (with date)
  • Job description acknowledgment
  • Various mandatory training and competency assessments (e.g., patient policy, interdisciplinary plans of care, skin integrity, mobility, catheter training) with proof of completion and passing quizzes at 100% required before start
• Photo for badge
• Facility will provide first week’s schedule and direct contact within 48 hours of start

Health & Safety

• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1), with facility acceptance of declinations
• Drug screen and physical exam must be current at start
• Annual TB questionnaire required for past positive TB status
• COVID-19 religious or medical exemptions require formal documentation

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Must comply with all state and facility-specific credentialing and onboarding processes
• Fingerprinting results must be tracked and confirmed with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services; traveler must follow specific procedures for pickup if needed
