Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in Intermediate Care (IMC) units: Acute Med/Progressive Care and Thoracic units.
- Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required.
- Units require Telemetry oncology, cardiac, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience.
- Ventilator and transplant patient care experience required.
- Must pass a Telemetry test prior to start.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 1 year of Intermediate Care experience within the last year
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with ventilator patient care
- Experience with transplant patient care
- Telemetry experience
Certifications & Testing
- Telemetry test (Adult Telemetry Test) must be completed and passed before starting.
- Telemetry test is assigned via LMS (WorkRamp), with strict passing criteria:
- 80% overall score
- 100% in lethal rhythms subcategory
- Correct answers on all 3rd degree heart block questions
- Candidates have up to 3 attempts with remediation required after the 2nd failed attempt. Failure after 3 attempts results in contract cancellation.
- BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and renewed according to facility policy.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace and nationwide sex offender search.
- Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check (BID form) and Caregiver Screening required.
- Education verification as applicable (RN diploma or degree verification).
- Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate policy.
- Physical exam recommended to meet agency standards (not facility required).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
- Annual TB questionnaire required.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required; medical or religious exemptions accepted.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or documented declination required for direct patient care providers.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (September to April).
- Other vaccines (e.g., Meningococcal) required if working in specific departments (not applicable here).
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge must be submitted prior to start (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except for religious/medical reasons).
- Signed acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail telemetry testing required.
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required.
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years required per agency standard.
