Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, Sunday-Thursday, 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM (may vary as needed)
Hours: 40 hours per week (5 shifts x 8 hours)

Job Description

  • Position requires floating to a secondary campus as needed.
  • Work primarily involves CT technology within Radiology/Cardiology specialty.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Connecticut
  • Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience with EPIC charting system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Must provide photo ID matching legal name on first day.
  • 7-year criminal background check within 12 months, updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
  • Foreign equivalency education evaluation and diploma required for internationally educated candidates.
  • Education verification of highest level required; official transcripts may be requested.
  • Sex offender search required.
  • Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start.
  • 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually; clean-shaven required for fit testing.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required.
  • Annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Required vaccinations or proof of immunity:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines)
    • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician documented history)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccine series, or declination within 1 year)
    • Tdap vaccination highly preferred for certain specialties (not required).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31).
  • COVID vaccination series preferred but not required.

Training and Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended (check unit requirements).
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.
  • Must complete various facility-specific training modules and attestations, including but not limited to:
    • Language Services Training
    • CAUTI Education Training
    • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
    • Mobile Heartbeat Alarm Module (exceptions apply)
    • Stroke Education (exceptions apply)
    • CLABSI Prevention Training
    • Preventing Pressure Injury Training
    • Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
    • Pyxis ES MedStation Training
    • Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
    • Patient Bedside Rounding (exceptions apply)
    • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (exceptions apply)
    • AME Blood Administration Module (exceptions apply)
    • New Employee Orientation
    • 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for CT Tech)
    • Fire Safety Module (effective 5/4/2026)
    • Chaperone Policy Training (effective 5/31/2024)

Competency Exams

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months, minimum 85% score.
  • Color Blind Testing required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024, minimum 80% score.

Work History and References

  • Must provide 7 years of work history with no gaps greater than 90 days.
  • Employment verification required for the last 7 years.
  • References required per standard protocol.
