Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 5:00 PM)
- On-call requirement: 1-2 days per week, including 1 weekend per month
- Holiday on-call as applicable
- Potential to float to general OR and a nearby cardiac facility
- Must be able to scrub and circulate for all types of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) cases
- Charting system used: Cerner (Surginet)
- Scrubs provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications & Competencies
- Pass/Fail Basic Dysrhythmia Exam required during orientation (one attempt only)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification as required
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing for dysrhythmia exam
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Verification of education (official transcript acceptable; diploma not accepted)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 12 months of start
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting results within 12 months of start (FBI fingerprinting required for PA facilities)
- 2 professional references within 2 years of start
- Work history verification as applicable
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (3M 1870+ model required)
- Current Tdap vaccine or titer
- Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive test
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Hepatitis B: series, titer, or declination accepted
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)
- COVID-19 vaccine no longer required prior to start; medical/religious exemptions accepted with masking requirements
Additional Information
- Modules assigned by education department must be completed prior to orientation (approx. 6 hours)
- Photo required for badge issuance prior to start
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
