Work Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Call Requirement: One shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM)
• No weekday call
• Return to Office (RTO) policy: Maximum 5 days off, no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Position in Operating Room (OR)
• Must float within scope as this is a mandatory float facility
• Strong scrub and circulate skills required in Orthopedics, Trauma, Vascular, and Neurosurgery
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Preferred: scrub experience in additional surgical areas

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Strong scrub and circulate skills in Orthopedics, Vascular, and Neurosurgery
• Experience in Orthopedics, Trauma, Vascular Surgery, and Neurology

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
• Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually; chest x-ray if history of positive TB
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap within 10 years or signed declination
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, rubella (boosters if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (booster if low titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - May 4)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; must be initiated within 48 hours of signed contract
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year; exemptions require approval for onsite PAPR use
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months of start
• Color blindness testing required within 12 months of start
• Competency exam required within 12 months of start
• NIH Stroke Certification required for RNs in certain specialties (including OR-related critical care areas); must be updated annually
