Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Pediatric Operating Room (OR) position with day shift hours: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Requires experience in kidney transplant, pediatric OR, ambulatory OR, and pediatric trauma
- On-call requirements:
- 1 weekend every 6-8 weeks
- 1 weeknight per week (Monday-Thursday)
- Holidays as operationally needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients in an outpatient setting
- Pediatric Operating Room (OR) experience
- Kidney transplant and transplant experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, nationwide sex offender check, and caregiver screening per Wisconsin state mandate
- Education verification as applicable to specialty
- Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate protocols
- Physical exam and immunization documentation (including Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB testing, Flu vaccine or approved exemption) required
- Wisconsin BID form and caregiver screening mandatory for all candidates
- Photo for badge must meet facility specifications (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
Testing and Competency Exams
- Pediatric Telemetry Test (WorkRamp LMS) required for all pediatric inpatient units (NICU, PICU, Pediatric unit)
- Adult Telemetry Test required if applicable
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Pass/Fail testing for EKG/medication with strict deadlines and remediation process
Additional Notes
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required (Aya standard)
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
- Facility-specific forms for communicable diseases, vaccine exemptions, and declinations must be completed as applicable
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
