Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Pediatric Operating Room (OR) position with day shift hours: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• Requires experience in kidney transplant, pediatric OR, ambulatory OR, and pediatric trauma
• On-call requirements:

  • 1 weekend every 6-8 weeks
  • 1 weeknight per week (Monday-Thursday)
  • Holidays as operationally needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients in an outpatient setting
• Pediatric Operating Room (OR) experience
• Kidney transplant and transplant experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, nationwide sex offender check, and caregiver screening per Wisconsin state mandate
• Education verification as applicable to specialty
• Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate protocols
• Physical exam and immunization documentation (including Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB testing, Flu vaccine or approved exemption) required
• Wisconsin BID form and caregiver screening mandatory for all candidates
• Photo for badge must meet facility specifications (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)

Testing and Competency Exams

• Pediatric Telemetry Test (WorkRamp LMS) required for all pediatric inpatient units (NICU, PICU, Pediatric unit)
• Adult Telemetry Test required if applicable
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Pass/Fail testing for EKG/medication with strict deadlines and remediation process

• References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required (Aya standard)

• Facility-specific forms for communicable diseases, vaccine exemptions, and declinations must be completed as applicable
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
