Description

Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Trauma)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00 - 7:30)
Guaranteed hours: Yes (36 or 48 hours per week)
Patient Ratios: 1:4-6
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-call: Not required
Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
Local candidates accepted: No (75 mile radius restriction)
Pending license accepted: Yes
Time off restrictions: No more than 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract; missed shifts should be made up ASAP
Charting system: EPIC
Scrub color: Navy Blue

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
Minimum 5 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Phlebotomy skills
Experience with Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA)
Experience with orthopedic trauma and total joint replacements
Experience managing peripheral nerve block catheters
Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
Experience with High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) therapy
Successful completion of Hospital Relias EKG exam
