Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Location: Clifton Springs, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks (with possible extension)

Work Schedule

• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, rotating between nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and mid shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Total Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background Checks (within 3 months of start):

  • 7-year criminal background check including felony checks
  • SSN Trace, National Criminal, National Sex Offender, Education verification from primary source
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (run monthly)
• Education verification or foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Primary source verification of New York RN license (within 30 days of start)
• NURSYS verification for RN license (within 30 days of start)
• Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire as applicable
• Immunizations and titers (must be current or documented):

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
• Snellen eye exam (within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Competencies & Other Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as required
• Color blind testing (one-time)
• Competency exam as required by specialty
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Clear, passport-style photo for badge
• Employment application and work history verification (minimum 2 past employments verified)
• Skills checklist (annual requirement)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract
• Prior travel experience is not required
• Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this assignment
