Description
Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
Location: Clifton Springs, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks (with possible extension)
Work Schedule
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, rotating between nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and mid shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Total Hours per Week: 36
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background Checks (within 3 months of start):
- 7-year criminal background check including felony checks
- SSN Trace, National Criminal, National Sex Offender, Education verification from primary source
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (run monthly)
- Education verification or foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
- Primary source verification of New York RN license (within 30 days of start)
- NURSYS verification for RN license (within 30 days of start)
- Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire as applicable
- Immunizations and titers (must be current or documented):
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
- Snellen eye exam (within 1 year)
- COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
Competencies & Other Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as required
- Color blind testing (one-time)
- Competency exam as required by specialty
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge
- Employment application and work history verification (minimum 2 past employments verified)
- Skills checklist (annual requirement)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract
- Prior travel experience is not required
- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this assignment
This position offers a rotational night/mid shift schedule in an Emergency Room setting, requiring current New York RN licensure and specific certifications. The contract is for 8 weeks with potential extension, ideal for travel nurses ready to work in a fast-paced ER environment.
