Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinic
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: Day/Evening shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Setting: Outpatient clinic focused on chemotherapy services
- Responsibilities include administration of IV, IM, SQ, and HAI medications
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience in outpatient clinic settings
- Infusion nursing experience
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Must complete a background check within 90 days prior to start date, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID Form required prior to start
- Monthly monitoring through workforce screening systems after hire
- Education verification may be required if education cannot be verified electronically
- Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate protocols
Certifications & Testing
- BLS (AHA) required and must be kept current
- Oncology certification (ONS/ONCC) required
- Telemetry-related pass/fail testing may be required depending on unit assignment (not applicable for this outpatient clinic role)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses or positive titers
- Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or documented declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof as applicable
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination if working in specific departments (not typically required for outpatient clinic)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific forms including communicable disease screening and caregiver screening
- Submission of a professional, passport-style photo for badge issuance
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years required
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
