Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – CVPICU

Work Schedule
- Day/Evening shifts, 12 hours (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Monday through Friday
- Every other weekend and some holidays required
- 36 hours per week
Unit/Specialty
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with Cardiovascular (CV) experience focus
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Completion of Wisconsin BID Form and Caregiver Screening within 90 days prior to start
- Background check including SSN trace, county and nationwide searches covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Monitoring through federal exclusion lists (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) monthly after hire
- Education verification as applicable
- Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
- Physical exam (collected to meet agency standard, not facility required)
- Immunization and health document requirements including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof (one adult dose required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers, with medical or religious exemptions accepted
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer, with exemptions accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or documented declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination if working in Microbiology department (not typically required for this role)
Orientation and Testing
- Telemetry test must be completed and passed before starting
- Telemetry test attempts limited to 3 with remediation required after 2 failed attempts
- Facility-specific rhythm interpretation course required if remediation is needed
- Annual renewal of certifications and testing as required
Additional Requirements
- Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual and Pass/Fail Telemetry Testing
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
- Completion of communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Medical or religious exemption forms for vaccines if applicable
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard)
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
