Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – IMC Unit (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Job Description
- Work in Intermediate Care (IMC) Acute Med/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic units.
- Shift: Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
- Schedule includes every other weekend and some holidays.
- Patient care areas require telemetry oncology, cardiac, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience.
- Ventilator and transplant patient care experience required.
- Must pass a Telemetry test prior to starting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Telemetry experience.
- Ventilator (vent) experience.
- Transplant patient care experience.
Certifications & Testing
- Telemetry test (Adult Telemetry Test) must be completed and passed before start date.
- Telemetry test is assigned via LMS platform with strict passing criteria (80% overall, 100% in lethal rhythms).
- Candidates allowed up to 3 attempts with remediation after 2 failed attempts. Failure after 3 attempts results in contract cancellation.
- BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and renewed according to facility policy.
- Additional required acknowledgments: Orientation Safety Manual and Pass/Fail Testing acknowledgment for telemetry.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Wisconsin BID Form and Caregiver Screening required within 90 days prior to start.
- Comprehensive background check including SSN trace, counties, nationwide sex offender check, and review of any pending or convicted charges (excluding traffic violations).
- Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems after hire.
- Education verification as applicable (RN diploma/degree verification expected).
- Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate policy.
- Physical exam collection required to meet agency standards (not facility-mandated).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes; TB questionnaire updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 doses or positive titers required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- Varicella: 2 doses or positive titer required; medical or religious exemptions accepted.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive titer or facility-specific declination form required if providing direct patient care.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (September to April).
- Other vaccines or declinations as applicable (e.g., Meningococcal for specific departments).
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge must meet specific guidelines (passport-style, solid background, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons).
- Completion of facility-specific communicable disease form within 90 days of start.
- Signed acknowledgment of facility safety manual and training.
- References: Two clinical references within the last 3 years required.
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required.
Work Hours
- 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours each).
- Night shift primarily, with some weekend and holiday coverage.
This position is ideal for RNs with telemetry and progressive care experience seeking a travel contract in Wisconsin with a reputable healthcare facility.
