Registered Nurse - ICU (Washington, Spokane)
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Float: Yes, will float between units
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- Block Schedules: Required
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 and 1:2
- Specialty Requirement: Cardiovascular ICU experience required

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
- Minimum of 1 year of Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
- Immunizations and screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
- Respiratory safety clearance (annual for travel candidates)
Background and Verification
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
- NURSYS license verification required
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable (Washington State Patrol, OBRA Registry for CNAs if applicable)
- Social Security card and government-issued photo ID required
- E-Verify attestation required
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Medication and competency exams as applicable by specialty/unit
- Float policy acknowledgement (may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance)
Work Environment
- Night shift in ICU with 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios
- Floating between units expected
- Use of Epic electronic health record system
This position is ideal for experienced ICU Registered Nurses with cardiovascular ICU experience who are comfortable working night shifts and floating between units in a large acute care teaching hospital setting.
