Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Travel/Contract)
Location: Saint Peters, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Unit Focus: Stroke care, post cardiac catheterization care, step-down/telemetry units
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
- Average Daily Census: 16 patients
- Charting System: EPIC
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
- Float Requirement: Must float between two nearby facilities as needed within service line/scope
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience with stroke patients and post cardiac catheterization care, including familiarity with post cath care and experience with post cardiac cath patients
- Step-down unit experience
- Experience with EPIC charting system
Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, updated annually
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
- Professional license primary source verification (NURSYS for Missouri)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 – Apr 1)
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, dress code policy, and float attestation
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months of start)
- Completion of facility orientation modules (approximately 16 hours) through online training platform before start
Additional Requirements
- Must complete unit-specific competency exams annually
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start, including oncology skills if applicable
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Employment application must be submitted and uploaded for facility review
Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care facility with 110 staffed beds
- Free parking available
- Scrub color: Navy
