Description
Registered Nurse – Telemetry
Location: Nampa, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts (7 AM – 7 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Unit Details
- Telemetry unit with 24 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Team nursing model with charge nurse and administrative supervisor on site 24/7
- Telemetry techs available; RNs sign off on cardiac strips (SpaceLabs monitors)
- CNAs support with a ratio of 1:8 (typically 3 CNAs if unit is full)
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP (patients on BiPAP >4 hours transfer to ICU), and High Flow oxygen
Patient Population & Common Diagnoses
- Heart Failure
- COPD
- Sepsis
- Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB)
- Pneumonia (PNA)
- Stroke
- Detoxification patients
- Suicidal holds
Required Certifications & Skills
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in Telemetry or related specialty
- Open to first-time travel nurses
- Must be a good team player
Clinical Responsibilities
- No requirement for RNs to titrate drips
- Common set-rate medications include Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lidocaine
- Floating to MedSurg unit locally and to Telemetry units in nearby cities may be required
- No call or standby requirements
- Weekend and holiday shifts as needed, typically every other weekend
Orientation & Dress Code
- Unit-specific orientation: 1-2 days
- Dress code: Any clean, professional scrub color
Additional Notes
- Experienced travelers may serve as lead nurses, managing 1-2 patients and assisting others with medication passes and care
- Facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidates’ permanent address

This is a 13-week Telemetry RN travel assignment in a 24-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. The role involves working 12-hour day shifts with a focus on cardiac and critical care patients.
