Registered Nurse – PCU (Charge RN Role)
Location: Lafayette, Indiana

Job Summary
- Charge RN position on a Cardiac and Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – true ICU stepdown unit
- Unit cares for patients with heart catheterizations, BiPAP, cardiac and vasoactive drips (Levo, Dopa, Nitro, Cardizem, Amio)
- Telemetry monitoring required
- Responsibilities include IV starts, managing cardiac & vasoactive drips, BiPAP, high flow oxygen, and charge nurse duties
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
- Weekend shifts required
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
- Unit does NOT accept travel pairs
- First-time travelers accepted
Schedule
- Night shift: 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:00 – 6:30)
- Weekly hours: 48 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 1.5 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience in charge nurse roles
- Telemetry monitoring experience
- IV start experience
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
- BiPAP experience
- High flow oxygen therapy experience
Clinical Skills & Special Requirements
- Telemetry monitoring
- IV starts
- Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips

- Ventilator experience preferred
- Charge nurse responsibilities
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including 7-year work/living history, SSN trace, county/state/national checks, sex offender registry, FACIS Level III, education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (may be pending at start)
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug test within 12 months of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (N95 or approved respirators)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Positive titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (no declinations accepted)
- HIPAA and facility-specific compliance forms must be completed prior to start
References & Documentation
- Minimum 2 professional references from recent employment within 2 years
- References must be from charge nurse, manager, supervisor, or higher (team lead acceptable for Allied roles)
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
